3 Days Gorilla Tour
Day 1: DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Get up early in the morning and our tour guide will be ready to pick you up and drive you south west to the land of gorillas. The word Bwindi means impenetrable in Lukiga language. This double meaning explains the appearance of the forest. This forest can be cold at any time of the day or evening. It has an annual temperature range of 7 degrees centigrade to 20 degrees centigrade. In Bwindi, expect some rain at any time but annually, it receives 2390mm of rain. Being an ancient forest, it is home to prehistoric creatures like the mountain gorillas, 301 species of butterflies, 200 trees, 51 reptiles and over 120 mammals. All these are interesting to look at. Carrying your tracking gears and packed lunch, move to the park headquarters for briefing before setting off for gorilla tracking. The guide will brief you about how to behave during the search. Go into the luxuriant forest for the great search. On the way, you may meet other primates like chimpanzees, l’hoest’s red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys black and white Columbus monkeys, baboons to mention but a few. You will also hear birds singing from the tree branches. This park is well known for being the home of over 350 species of birds including about 7 which are IUCN listed. They are not commonly seen in East Africa but are normally seen in the Albertine rift valley. Keep on trekking but the time for meeting these lovely apes is unpredictable because of there irregular movement and there distance from there food. You may take about 2- 8 hours before you get to these apes. The moment you get to the gorillas, your fatigue will be forgotten and you will be filled with excitement. Spend an hour with them, taking there photo graphs and watching them as they interact. Return to your accommodation for relaxing or head to the Batwa community this is at an extra cost of $15. Dinner and overnight at your booked lodge.
Day 3: RETURN FLIGHT
